Why choose us?
We are enhanced CRB checked.
It is very important that we as a business try to help protect children and vulnerable adults when recruiting people into positions of trust.
The Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) acts as a ‘one-stop-shop’ for organisations like ours, by checking police records and, in relevant cases, information held by the Independent Safeguarding Authority (ISA). There are two levels of CRB check currently available; called Standard and Enhanced Disclosures.
At Busydays we ensure all our staff have enhanced CRB checks. This is the highest level of check available to anyone working in regulated activity with children or vulnerable adults.
We are fully insured.
If someone is injured or their property is damaged, the person or business responsible may be sued and held legally liable for the injury or property damage. For this reason Busydays has public liability insurance of £5000000
We are first aid trained.
Jenny & Steve have completetd the First Aid International Paediatric First Aid course. The course meets the first aid requirements of Ofsted for the Early Years Foundation Stage standards, the National Childminding Association, the Pre-School Learning Alliance, and the Department for Children, Schools and Families Surestart guidelines for Paediatric First Aid. The Paediatric First Aid course also includes adult basic life support skills.
We are Makaton ® trained.
Makaton is an internationally recognised communication programme, used in more than 40 countries worldwide. Most Makaton users are children and adults who need it as their main means of communication Jenny has completed the Beginners' and Follow-up workshops which are accredited through the Open College Network (OCN).
We have been approved by Trading Standards.
In order to become a Buy With Confidence member,Busydays had to pass a set of tailored background checks. Membership of the scheme is not given lightly – amongst other checks, each applicant must have their complaints history reviewed receives a visit from Trading Standards. Good references are required from previous customers and we must agree to abide by the scheme's code of conduct, which requires us to follow the letter and spirit of the law. Enhanced criminal records disclosure is also required. Our conduct is continual monitored.
Qualifications and experience
Business owners, Steve and Jenny both hold the Diploma in Home-Based Child Care and so have studied child development, child safety and how best to promote learning. Steve has a strong business background, having worked in the aerospace industry. He has also undertook general nursing training. Jenny has studied health and social care, working in nurseries and schools and holds a Teenage Beauty Make-Over Specialist Diploma.
All our staff have had experience working with children, either as nannies or as NNEB trained nursery staff. Plus, most of our staff are parents themselves, and so know the stress and pressure involved in planning a child's party!
From time to time we may have volunteers from Outset Youth Action. The organization support young people aged 13-25 who wish to make a personal commitment to volunteering. As part of our commitment to supporting our local community, Busydays offers volunteers a chance to gain confidence, experience and new skills. Although all our volunteers are CRB checked, we ensure they are only ever in support of fully trained Busydays staff, and never left unattended.
